Jill Scott & Miguel Respond To Grammy Snub, Willow Smith Announces Album Release Date

by on December 1, 2011

Both Miguel and Jill Scott took to Twitter last night and expressed their dismay at being snubbed by the Grammys when the nominations were announced last night.

Miguel didn’t hide his feelings or his anger and wrote, “Damn, this really hurts. Congrats to all the nominees.”

He added, “I’m F–king Pissed Yo. I don’t think I’m God’s gift to music but I know the Album or at LEAST Sure Thing should have been Nominated.”

And Jill whose video for Hear My Call should have helped her nab something, responded,

0 nominations. I’m speechless. Cover of Billboard, #1 cd in the country, tied/broke the record for Urban radio. Ok…so…ok. Wow…..

No Miguel?!?!? Huh!!!? Again appalled.

Excuse me?!?!? No “Love on Top”? This can’t be right

I don’t need a Grammy. I deserve it & I’m clear on that. The Light of the Sun was/is magical. We were lifted & filled w/ truth. I ❤ it.

Ok good folks. Grammy’s do not define me. Have u ever deserved something and not gotten it? It sucks and is insulting. That’s it. No mas.

I do know [that my fans love me]. It is fine. At least my girls were nominated. Congrats Ledisi and Marsha

My head is up. My son is healthy, my family is loving & so are my fans. God is real. Disappointments too still I come thru like a Kung foo.

As I said on Twitter today, award shows stopped being a reflection of good music a long time ago and artists need to accept that as much as it hurts.

In news, Willow Smith revealed her video for Fireball featuring Nicki Minaj will premiere on 106 & Park next week and her album will finally see the light of day on April 3rd.
