While the world mourns the passing of Etta James, pal Roseanne Barr took the opportunity to bash President Barack Obama for asking Beyoncé instead of Etta to the famous tune At Last for the First Couple’s dance at the inaugural ball.
While tweeting her condolences she also slammed new parents Jay-Z and Beyoncé for being disgustingly arrogant!

I lost ALL respect for Obama when he dissed Etta James in favor of Beyoncé. No respect for women at all. I thought-Etta was a hero 2 women.
Etta James let me sing “you can leave your hat on” by Randy Newman with her on my talk show-it was a dream come true-she was so sweet.
At one of Etta James’ concerts, I was in her private tent & a woman said-”You look just like your mom” to me-thinking I was Etta’s daughter- she thought I was Etta’s daughter & said-”You’re mom is the greatest of the greats” I said “Yes she is.”
I have not listened to anything Beyoncé or jay z has said or recorded since they did that to Etta. Their arrogance was disgusting. Etta James-Rest In Peace, dear lady-read her book “A Rage to Survive” -great American feminist.
Many people don’t know that Etta James’ real father was Minnesota Fats, the pool legend. Read her excellent book-”A Rage to Survive”
Oh yes she could-her voice deepened but was amazing in her older years-she rocked it.
Etta James was Janis Joplin’s idol-and mine too.
I guess Etta was still upset over the snub or at least her friends still are but today really isn’t the day.
